Indian 2 OTT release: Where to watch Kamal Haasan-Shankar's film post theatrical run

When it was first announced that Senapthy of Indian was making a comeback, audiences were excited and intrigued to know more about Indian 2. Now, the latest update is that the digital rights of the Kamal Haasan-starrer, Indian 2, has been acquired by streaming giant Netflix. As per Netflix’s Pandigai announcements, the streaming giant has added the S Shankar directorial film in its watch list and will be available for streaming in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi post its theatrical run.  

Indian 2, starring Kamal Haasan, is one of the most antiquated sequels of the year. The film marks the return of Kamal Haasan’s iconic character Senapathy as he sets out to eradicate corruption in the country at present. The intro video, which was released earlier, showcased Kamal Haasan reprising his popular character Senapathy from the blockbuster film Indian (1996). Fans are thrilled to have their favourite character back on screen.

Starting on a wrong note?

However, many viewers were disappointed to note that composer Anirudh Ravichander has replaced AR Rahman in this sequel. The background music from the intro music was noticeably different, and was not appreciated by the audiences. Many audiences criticised Anirudh’s Come Back Indian theme and compared it with ARR’s music from the first part, calling it an ‘average music score’. Interestingly, Anirudh has once again rendered his vocals in the background score.

The upcoming action film boasts of an ensemble cast featuring Siddharth, SJ Suryah, Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Kalidas Jayaram, Gulshan Grover, Nedumudi Venu, Vivek, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, Guru Somasundaram, Delhi Ganesh, Jayaprakash, Manobala, Vennela Kishore and Deepa Shankar, among others. 

The sequel is bankrolled by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies. The movie’s cinematography is handled by Ravi Varman and Rathnavelu, it is edited by A Sreekar Prasad. 

I did Indian 2 only to worth with Shankar and Kamal Haasan, says Siddharth

Tamil actor Siddharth, who has been basking in the success of his previous outing Chithha, will be seen sharing screen space with Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan in Indian 2. Speaking about his experience of working with the legendary actor on whom he heaps high praise always, Siddharth revealed that he did the film to only work with the legendary actor and S Shankar. “The reason I did this film is not because of what happens after the release of the film, but the fact that I could work with such stalwarts. I can’t talk about the role, but the film is a blessing and I am happy,” the actor added.
