The team of Indian 2, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Kamal Haasan in the lead role, is nearing release. With each passing day, the hype for the project has been increasing. With only a few days left for the release, the team has been touring across India for promoting the film.
Amid this, the statement made by Kamal Haasan that he likes the third instalment Indian 3 over Indian 2, has created waves with a section of media reporting that the actor has abandoned the upcoming film. However, in a recent press meet conducted in Chennai, Kamal Haasan clarified this.

After Kamal Haasan’s statement that he prefers Indian 3 over Indian 2 invited some unwanted statements from audience that the film might be underwhelming, the actor addressed this during a press meet held recently.
Indian 2 has been struggling to create pre-release hype among the audiences, owing to its mediocre music and underwhelming trailer. With Kamal Haasan’s statement, it only further reiterated audiences’ opinion.
However, Kamal said, “For me both the films are one part only. If I like one scene, it doesn’t mean I don’t like others. I request others not to take in any other angle. Since Indian 2’s release date has been finalised as July 12, I am running towards Indian 3 and its release.”
