Indian 2, the highly anticipated social thriller which stars Kamal Haasan in the titular role, is set to have its grand theatrical release. The movie, which marks Ulaganayagan’s second collaboration with hitmaker Shankar, is gearing up to hit the big screens on July 12, 2024. Ahead of the release, the makers of the highly anticipated Indian sequel dropped an exciting BTS video of the film, on social media. The special video features Siddharth, who plays a pivotal role in the film.
Indian 2 BTS – Siddharth about working with Kamal Haasan, Shankar
In the exciting BTS video shared by Lyca Productions on social media Siddharth is seen opening up about his journey with Indian 2. The popular actor, who is playing the role of Chitra Aravindhan in the film, stated that the powerful energy that centers the universe of the Indian franchise is Senapathy, the character played by Kamal Haasan. Siddharth, who described Kamal Haasan as the burning fire that keeps the energy alive, stated that the legend outshined everyone with his performance in the film.

The talented actor, who spoke about working with Shankar yet again, stated that he is a filmmaker who is an expert in creating a larger-than-life villain and a common man on screen, with the same finesse. Interestingly, Siddharth revealed that the veteran filmmaker is very particular about following his script, and has his entire imagination written in it. The actor, who still remembers the day he received an offer to be a part of Indian 2, believes that his character will be remembered for a long time for all the special reasons.
All about the Indian franchise
As reported earlier, the first installment of the Indian franchise, which hit the theaters in 1996, featured Kamal Haasan in a double role, as legendary freedom fighter Veerasekharan Senapathy, and his son, Chandru. The legendary actor won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in Shankar’s film, now available for streaming on Aha Tamil and OTTplay Premium. If the reports are to be believed, Indian 2, which revolves around Senapathy’s new mission, features Siddharth as Chandru’s son, who follows his grandfather’s footsteps. The third installment, Indian 3, is set to be released in 2025.
