Imran Khan made his Bollywood debut with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. He transitioned from being a romantic hero to playing a grey character in his 2008 film, Kidnap. The actor shared screen space with Minissha Lamba in the Sanjay Gadhvi directorial. Several years after his film's release, Imran recently spoke about a scene in Kidnap that he found uncomfortable. Khan revealed he couldn't sleep at night after performing the sequence the whole day.
Imran Khan interacted with Nikhil Taneja about filming a scene for Kidnap that left him disturbed. The actor recalled a scene that comes after the track Mausam in his 2008 film. Describing the scene, Khan said, "The scene after that is one of s**ual violence, where this character drags her back to the den, and it seems for a moment that he’s going to s**ually assault her. In fact, it begins that way, and then he stops and pulls back."
The actor found that scene difficult to shoot and even thought the sequence wasn't necessary in the film. Imran further stated he spent the day shooting it and he found himself to be disturbed after returning home. "I couldn’t sleep, I threw up. I just couldn’t get it out of my head," he recalled.

Imran also revealed he met his co-star Minissha the next morning and she had dark and purple bruises all over her arm. Looking at the same, Khan wondered, "Oh my god! What have I done?". Later, he had a conversation with his co-star, who was super-chilled about it and put his mind at ease. However, Imran said he has never felt okay about it.
After making his acting debut with Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Imran Khan starred in many Hindi films. He did projects like Luck, Goi Tere Pyaar Mein, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Break Ke Baad, and more. The actor's last theatrical release was Katti Batti in 2015.
