Legendary Kannada actor, director and film producer Dwarakish recently fell prey to online rumour-mongering. Reportedly, the 80-year-old veteran was unwell a few months ago and had even undergone the required treatment to get back in shape. However, fake reports began to emerge on Sunday, April 30, claiming that Dwarakish had succumbed to ill health and passed away.
Luckily, he would intervene and share a video message to communicate that he is hale and hearty, thus dismissing all the hoax reports that are currently being circulated.
"Namaskara to everyone. This is Dwarakish - the Dwarakish that you people have raised, the Dwarakish that you have nurtured. I am doing perfectly fine and I need your blessings. In fact, I am fit and fine and very happy, as well. I would need your trust and your love, and as long as I have your blessings, nothing could harm me. I'm quite alright, I'm fine!" said Dwarakish in the video message.
The Prachanda Kulla actor began his career as an actor in 1964 and would soon foray into film production, with the 1969 film Mayor Muthanna (starring Dr. Rajkumar) being his first solo venture. He would go on to successfully juggle production, acting and film direction over the next few decades with some of his best-known films being Bhagyavantharu, Guru Shishyaru, Madhuve Madu Tamashe Nodu, Dance Raja Dance and Apthamitra. He has worked with some of the biggest actors in South India such as Dr. Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan, Ambareesh, Rajinikanth and others
Interestingly, similar fake rumours regarding Dwarakish's death surfaced in 2019 and then, too, the actor-producer had to clear the air himself through a video message. Not very long ago, fellow senior actor Doddanna, too, was subjected to this kind of notoriety and one found several social media posts condoling his death. Doddanna would then share a similar video note to urge everyone to stop spreading the rumours.
Legendary Telugu actor Kota Srinivasa Rao fell prey as well and he too shared a video message a couple of months ago to describe the ordeal he went through after the fake news began to spread.
