Illegal 2: Neha Sharma, Piyush Mishra and Akshay Oberoi on why season 2 is a ‘must watch’

In a matter of days, the latest season of Illegal will drop on Voot Select. The show’s lead stars Neha Sharma, Piyush Mishra and Akshay Oberoi recently revealed what audiences should expect from the show’s latest season, with Oberoi even calling it a ‘must watch’.

Neha, who plays the role of the resolute Niharika Singh, has nothing but good things to say about her character. Calling it a delightful yet challenging experience to essay the role, Sharma talks about the determination her character displays. Ever ready to call out any wrongs she witnesses, Niharika is unafraid to go head to head with even those more powerful than her. The actress says in season two the lawyer would have to go through personal as well as professional obstacles in the fight for justice.

Piyush portrays Janardhan Jaitley, Niharika’s mentor turned rival. The actor says that the crux of the upcoming season would be the ‘fierce’ showdown between the mentor and the mentee. He also revealed that viewer’s appreciation of the first season’s handling of the storyline inspired the makers to incorporate the same in a much bigger way in the second season.

Akshay, who plays Akshay Jaitley, concurs with his co-star. He says the tug of war between Niharika and Janardhan makes the show a ‘must watch’. He says his character too will come face to face with several predicaments, ones which will make him question his morality.

The second season of Illegal will be available to stream on Voot Select from November 25, 2021 onwards.
