Idiyan Chandhu on OTT: Where to watch Vishnu Unnikrishnan’s action thriller online

Idiyan Chandhu, the coming-of-age action thriller film which stars Vishnu Unnikrishnan in the titular role, hit the theatres in July 2024. The movie, written and directed by Sreejith Vijayan, earned mixed reviews and ended up as a below-average grosser at the box office. After a long delay, Idiyan Chandhu has finally made its streaming debut. As per the latest updates, the Vishnu Unnikrishnan starrer is now available for streaming on the popular OTT platform, Amazon Prime Video.

The Sreejith Vijayan directorial, which had trouble cracking its OTT deal due to its underperformance at the box office, has finally had its streaming debut on Amazon Prime Video. The Vishnu Unnikrishnan starrer had its OTT release today (November 23, 2024), on the leading platform. Idiyan Chandhu is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Malayalam, with subtitles. If the latest updates are to be believed, the action thriller might not get released in other languages.

Idiyan Chandhu: Plot, cast, and crew

The Sreejith Vijayan directorial revolves around its protagonist Chandhu, played by Vishnu Unnikrishnan, who grew up witnessing the abuses faced by his mother. Later his father is brutally murdered by a criminal gang, which further damages his mental health. Chandhu’s childhood trauma makes him extremely short-tempered and violent. However, as he grows up, the protagonist decides to put an end to his anger issues, for the well-being of his mother and family.

Chandu Salimkumar plays the lead antagonist Murugan in the film, which features Lena in the role of the protagonist’s mother, Indu. Gayathri Arun, Jayashree Sivadas, Vidhya Vijayakumar, Lalu Alex, Johny Antony, Sminu Sijo, Biju Sopanam, IM Vijayan, Ramesh Pisharody, Salim Kumar, and Sreejith Ravi essay the supporting roles in the film. Aravind R Warrier and Minshad Zara composed the songs for the film. Deepak Dev composed the background score. Vignesh Vasu is the director of photography. V Saajan handled the editing.
