Identity: Trisha, Tovino Thomas to team up, big-budget action-thriller to go on floors in September

Tamil star Trisha Krishnan has signed her second action-thriller in Malayalam and her third movie in the language. After Nivin Pauly’s Hey Jude and Mohanlal’s Ram, the actress is now all set to team up with Minnal Murali and 2018 star Tovino Thomas for his upcoming action film titled Identity.

The team is expected to make the official announcement about Trisha’s casting on Saturday through the stars’ social media pages. The movie, which is scripted by Forensic makers Anas Khan and Akhil Paul, was first announced last year with Tovino and Madonna Sebastian as part of the cast. It’s not clear whether Trisha has replaced Madonna or if it’s a dual-heroine film.

Identity, which will be shot on a big budget and released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi much like Tovino’s projects including 2018 and the upcoming Ajayante Randam Moshanam, is set to go on floors in September. Tovino is currently shooting for Lal Jr’s Nadikar Thilakam, in which he plays a superstar. The movie also has Soubin Shahir as part of the cast.

Identity is also touted to have some adrenaline-pumping action scenes that will be choreographed by a foreign stunt director, whose name is also set to be announced soon by the team. The filming of the stunt sequences alone contribute to 25 of the 90 days allotted for its production.

Meanwhile, Trisha is also part of Jeethu Joseph’s Ram, which is filmed as a duology. The team has already filmed in Kochi, London, Morocco and Tunisia, and has a few more schedules left to wrap up the shoot.

Trisha is also expected to reunite with Yennai Arindhaal co-star Ajith Kumar after over 13 years in the upcoming film Vidaamuyarchi. The Ponniyin Selvan actress’ upcoming movies include Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vijay-starrer Leo, The Road and Sathuranga Vettai 2 in Tamil.
