Identity release date: Tovino Thomas, Trisha Krishnan’s film to hit the theatres on THIS day?

Tovino Thomas is reuniting with director duo Akhil Paul and Anas Khan after the success of Forensic, for the upcoming project Identity. The popular actor is set to play the role of Haran Shankar, an investigation officer in the film. Identity marks the comeback of popular actress Trisha Krishnan to the Malayalam film industry, after a long gap. Reportedly, the much-awaited project, which is touted to be a crime thriller, is gearing up for a January 2025 release.

Identity gets a release date?

If the latest updates are to be believed, Identity will have a grand theatrical release in January 2025. The recent reports suggest that the makers are planning to release Tovino Thomas and Trisha Krishnan’s film on January 2, 2025. However, a final decision will be made only after the team considers the other releases lined up for the month. However, if things go as planned, Identity will hit the theatres as the first Malayalam film to release in 2025.

The recently released Identity teaser suggest that the movie, which is touted to be a crime thriller, revolves around an investigation. Tovino Thomas appears as Haran Shankar, a skilled investigator in the film. Trisha Krishnan, on the other hand, plays the role of Alisha, the prime witness of the case, who has a photographic memory. From the teaser, it is safe to assume that both the actors are playing equally important roles in the film.

Identity features a massive star cast including popular Tamil actor Vinay Rai, Aju Varghese, Shammi Thilakan, Visakh Nair, Major Ravi, Madira Bedi, and others in the supporting roles. Jakes Bejoy has composed the songs and original score for the film. Akhil George is the director of photography. Chaman Chakko handles the editing.
