Only a day ago, debutant director Chandrajith Belliappa had taken to social media about the lack of good shows for his Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali in multiplexes. “Not so favourable showtimes in multiplexes. #IbbaniTabbidaIleyali has fought so many battles during its journey. One more battle to be won. All up for it! After all, love always triumphs!” he had written.

The disparate allocation of shows in number and timings was but expected, what with Thalapathy Vijay’s much-publicized ‘last’ commercial film before his plunge into full-time politics, The G.O.A.T hitting theatres a day ahead of Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali. While the reviews for The G.O.A.T have not been the most heartening, the film continues to hold a majority of the available screens and shows.

As a result, despite overwhelmingly positive reviews from the press show and paid premieres, Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali’s box office progress has been slow, but it is beginning to pick up, what with this being a festival weekend. With more and more reviews pouring in from general audiences, here’s a look at what they are saying about the film on social media.

X reviews of Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali

The common thread in almost all the X reviews of Chandrajith Belliappa’s Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali is that the first-time filmmaker has woven together a beautiful, almost magical love story, the soul of which is the music by Gagan Baderiya. Performances by Vihan, Ankita Amar and Mayuri Nataraja have also been getting a lot of attention.

Comments ranged from, “Beautiful film with very good love story. BGM is soul of the film,” to, “It’s a classic; team needs to promote it more”, “I saw poetry come alive on the Kannada silver screen. Some moments felt really fresh & the scenes were beautifully captured with an aesthetic touch”, “If audiences don’t support this film, they will regret later”, “Must watch for all those who love genuine love stories”, among others.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali is a Paramvah Studios production and follows three major characters – Sid (Vihan), Anahita (Ankita Amar) and Radha (Mayuri Nataraja). The film is about Sid, who is all set to marry Radha, but cannot go through with it, as he believes it isn’t fair to her that he still harbours feelings for a long-lost love, Anahita. The only way to solve this situation is for him to find Anahita again and either rekindle their relationship or give himself closure once and for all.
