The next step in actor-filmmaker Rakshit Shetty’s roadmap to give Kannada cinema a bunch of new filmmakers is here. Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali, the directorial debut of Chandrajith Belliappa, is set for release in theatres on September 5, ahead of which he’s dropped the trailer of the film to show audiences what he’s got in store for them. Chandrajith had provided some hints that his film will be quite the romantic journey with songs like Oh Anahita and Radhe, among others.

And now, with the trailer, he’s firmly established that a magical and intensely soulful love story is what he’s taking to audiences. The heart of the film, is, no doubt the romance between Vihan’s Siddharth and Ankita’s Anahita, and the pair’s chemistry had been a major talking point when the song Oh Anahita came out. At the time, though, Vihan had said that his chemistry with Mayuri is also to look out for, which became clear in the Radhe song and was further cemented with the trailer. Ankita, it would seem is the heart of Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali and Mayuri its soul.

Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali is the second production by Rakshit’s Paramvah Studios that is led by one of his Seven Odds writers and does not star him in the lead. Bachelor Party was the first. In an earlier media interaction, Rakshit had said that Chandrajith is one of the most talented writers on his Seven Odds team. “He’s very classy and I like the way he thinks and executes things,” Rakshit had said.

Speaking about his team, Chandrajith had said that he assembled a new team because he wanted “fresh energy” in Ibbani Tabbida Ileyali. “I have attempted to make a film that is completely immersive and entertaining for all kinds of audiences, across age groups. The idea was also to make a film that would remain fresh even three decades from now,” the filmmaker had said.
