Malayalam actor Naslen Gafoor is set to reunite with director Girish AD for the third time in his latest project I Am Kathalan. The duo previously worked together in Girish's debut film Thaneermathan Dinangal and Super Sharanya, which released earlier this year in theatres.

I Am Kathalam is written by Sajin Cherukayil, who was also part of films such as Super Sharanya and Thinkalazcha Nishchayam the past year. The movie will have Anishma, who was also part of Vineeth Vasudevan's directorial debut Poovan, as the female lead. I Am Kathalan, which is expected to be Girish's biggest venture till date, went on floors in Irijalakuda. The movie also has Dileesh Pothan, TG Ravi, Sajin, Vineeth Vishwam, Lijomol, Kavitha and Vineeth Vasudevan as part of its cast.

Saran Velayudhan will be cranking the camera for the movie, which has music composed by Sidharth Pradeep.

Meanwhile, Naslen and his Jo & Jo co-star Mathew Thomas' latest venture Neymar has completed its shoot and is currently in its post-production phase. The movie, which is touted to be a fun entertainer, has the duo playing teenagers who have just finished their plus-2 exams and are part of the Brazil football fan club in their hometown.

Neymar was also shot in Pondicherry and is directed by Sudhi Maddison. The movie is scripted by Paulson Skaria and Adarsh Sukumaran. “Football is a part of the movie, but not a major aspect. We can’t reveal anything more, but the film encompasses a lot of the events from their travels and other interesting incidents,” says the filmmaker, who will be making his directorial debut with the movie that will be released in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Neymar’s music is composed by Shaan Rahman and the film is expected to hit theatres in January 2023.

Naslen, meanwhile, was last seen in Jo and Jo and Makal – both of which are currently streaming on ZEE5 and Manorama Max, respectively.
