The promotions for dancing sensation Prabhudeva's Poikkal Kuthirai are on in full swing. The film, directed by Santhosh P Jayakumar, has Prabhudeva, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raiza Wilson, Prakash Raj, Samuthirakani and Sarathkumar as part of the star cast. The team recently met the press as part of the promotions in Chennai. During the promotions, what caught the attention of many was the T shirt sported by John Kokken, which had a picture of Ajith on it, in his latest avatar.

The actor shared some pictures of him wearing the T shirt on his social media handle and wrote that it was his small gesture of love, gratitude and respect for the actor. Calling Ajith a superhero, he wrote, "Attended my first ever official movie Press meet yesterday on the 23rd of July 2022 for my upcoming Tamil film #PoikkalKuthirai releasing on August 5th,2022.The T-shirt I am wearing is a small gesture to show my love,my gratitude and my respect to MY SUPERHERO-AJITH KUMAR SIR (sic)."

While addressing the media, the actor stated that he was in the film industry because of Ajith. "This is my first press meet. I am in the Tamil film industry only because of the motivation from Ajith sir. That's why I am wearing a T shirt with Ajith's sir's picture. I will always be grateful to him." John is part of Ajith's AK61, directed by H Vinoth.

Talking about his role in Poikkal Kuthirai, John said, "The credit for my role in Poikkal Kuthirai goes to Arya, with whom I worked in Sarpatta Parambarai. He was the one who referred my name to the film's director Santhosh Jayakumar."

John also stated that it was an honour to work with Prabhudeva. "I have watched Prabhudeva sir on screen from a young age. My very first memory of him is the song, Chikku Bukku Rayiley (Gentleman). It's an honour to work with him."
