Huma Qureshi has wrapped production on the second season of her award-winning web series, Maharani. The series was filmed in Bhopal, Hoshangabad, and Jammu & Kashmir.
In a statement, the actor said that Jammu had a short schedule but played an important role in the plot. It was such a beautiful place to shoot. Season 2 will be bigger and more exciting, with many twists and turns.
Earlier, during an interaction with the Indian Express, Huma had said that life has changed for her post-Maharani. She stated that things have changed since Maharani, she believes. For quite some time, the actor has been on the route of this adventure. However, the outpouring of unreserved love and gratitude has been tremendous. Huma knew they were putting on a terrific show, but one doesn't truly appreciate what's going on until they get a response like that. They would contact each other every day, wondering if they had put up a decent performance.
Rani Bharti is a homemaker and the wife of Bihar's chief minister, Bheema, in Maharani. Her only concerns are her home and her husband. She intends to collect her belongings and return to her village after her husband resigns as Bihar's Chief Minister. Her life, however, takes a change when her husband, the Chief Minister of Bihar, is forced to disclose the selection of his successor. While his party members are waiting to hear who has been appointed, he unexpectedly names Rani as his successor.
Subhash Kapoor created and wrote the web series, which was directed by Karan Sharma. The first season of the show, which premiered on May 28 of last year, also starred Sohum Shah, Amit Sial, Kani Kusruti, and Inaamulhaq.
Rani Bharti, the show's protagonist, was played by Huma. The first season of the show is available to watch on SonyLIV.
