After 11 years of its release, Flame: An Untold Love Story is releasing on the ShemarooMe OTT platform. Actress Hrishitaa Bhatt is seen as Mahua, the strongest character she has portrayed in her career. Hrishitaa made her Bollywood debut in Shah Rukh Khan's Asoka (2001), where she played Devi, the wife of SRK’s character Ashoka, the Mauryan emperor. She was last seen in Akshay Kumar's Cuttputlli (2022).
Released in 2014, Flame: An Untold Love Story tells a story about a tribal woman and her struggles with societal norms, fighting against it to stand for every woman and also for her lover. After releasing in the theatres, Flame is now releasing on ShemarooMe OTT platform on May 9, 2024. You can also watch the 1-hour-37-minute movie through OTTplay Premium on the same day.
Apart from Indian actors like Hrishitaa Bhatt, Kamna Singh Chandel, Shekhar Gijare, Rajkumar Kanojia, Hemant Pandey, Bosky Sheth and Janvi Singh, Flame: An Untold Love Story also stars Hollywood actors like John DeLong and Natalia Janoszek in pivotal roles.
The Hindi drama ignites a powerful tale of hardship. Mahua, a tribal woman with a pure and loving heart, finds herself trapped in a ruthless, unloving marriage. Bound by traditional cruelty and societal norms, Mahua’s life is entangled in dark and creepy webs. Her husband is an exorcist (ojha in Hindi). However, one day she finds some hope to breathe when she discovers her true love.
The thrilling twist in the story is that this newfound love becomes a motivation, which empowers Mahua to resist societal expectations, break all the barriers from the suffocating relationship and embrace her own strength. The movie Flame celebrates the unbeatable spirit, where love becomes the weapon against oppression. It also highlights how much women's empowerment is needed in society and how it works. The movie also sheds light on how strong beliefs and determination can help women fight against misconduct.
