Earlier, Aamir Khan had revealed that Junaid Khan looked for a role in Laal Singh Chaddha before making his acting debut in Maharaj, produced by Yash Raj Films. In a recent interview, the newcomer revealed that both his stepmother and filmmaker Kiran Rao tried out for the role of a mother-son pair in the film. However, the film's enormous budget prevented the casting of a new actor in the lead role.
Junaid informed Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel that he and Kiran Rao would have appeared in Laal Singh Chaddha due to their successful auditions. She was acting as his mom. In the span of four days, they managed to capture footage for approximately 20 minutes worth of scenes for the film. He found it to be a test, and Aamir was interested in seeing how he handled the subject. Financial constraints ultimately led to the project's failure, as the cost of casting a new actor for the film was high.

In addition to starring in Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir was also involved with the show's production. The original, beloved 1994 film Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks, served as an inspiration for the new version.
Aside from Laal Singh Chaddha, Junaid auditioned for a number of roles. He was also considered for the lead role in Kiran Rao's directorial venture, Laapataa Ladies. But in the end, the filmmaker decided that Sparsh Shrivastava would be a better choice for the part than Junaid.
The Loveyapa actor elaborated on his decision, stating that Laapataa Ladies presented a distinct scenario. Kiran simply replied that Sparsh Shrivastava was better for the part, and he admitted that he agreed with her assessment based on his screen test for the film. The part was more suited to the Jamtara actor.
Junaid made it clear that his failure to secure a cast did not affect his connection with Kiran. Their formula is excellent, and they get along famously since she is such a delightful and friendly person.
Aamir Khan produced Laapataa Ladies, while Kiran was in charge of directing it. Even though it did not receive any nominations, Laapataa Ladies served as India's official entry for this year's Academy Awards.
