Aparshakti Khurana wasn't aware that his audition for Jubilee (2022) by Vikramaditya Motwane had landed him a role in Berlin. Indeed, Atul Sabharwal, who also contributed to the writing of Jubilee and is currently directing ZEE5's upcoming bureaucratic thriller, witnessed the actor's audition.

Excitement for Berlin and immediate commitment

In an interview with Mid Day, Khurana recalled that Atul had watched his Jubilee audition and that they had begun discussing Berlin as soon as they met for the Prime Video readings. The actor had little trouble saying yes to Berlin because of the innovative manner and world-building of the thriller, which also starred Rahul Bose, Ishwak Singh, and Anupriya Goenka.

Khurana also recalled that as soon as Atul began narrating Berlin, he requested the screenplay and read it cover to cover that very day. This was a whole new universe to him.

Career impact and personal approach

Two years ago, Khurana staged Jubilee, portraying a late-period actor with acting aspirations. This role marked a turning point in his career. He claims that his personal approach to projects has not changed despite his newfound fame, even though the show helped him shed the funnyman image.

The actor went on to say that there has been an increase in respect due to the scripts that are coming his way. He is collaborating with better people and production houses. To be clear, he has never run his business with the mentality that he needs to prove anything. Berlin and Jubilee are as serious an undertaking as those comedic portions.

Recent success in Stree 2

The last time we saw Khurana was in the August release of the blockbuster Stree 2. The actor reprised his role as Bittu in the film, co-starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead roles. The film has crossed the Rs. 500 crore mark at the box office, setting new records in Bollywood.
