The Housefull franchise consists of comic movies starring Akshay Kumar and Ritesh Deshmukh in each installment. The first two films, Housefull and Housefull 2, were helmed by Sajid Khan. Sajid-Farhad directed the third installment, Housefull 3, while Farhad Samji took the reins for the fourth film, Housefull 4. Housefull 5 is currently in production under Tarun Mansukhani's direction. Sajid Nadiadwala produces the series through his company, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Recent news suggests that Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar may be joining the cast of Housefull 5.
Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar to be a part of Housefull 5?
According to a report published by Peeping Moon this afternoon, Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar have decided to be a part of Housefull 5. The film, expected to be released theatrically on June 6, 2025, will feature superstar Akshay Kumar in the lead role.
The report conveyed that Anil Kapoor and Nana Patekar are teaming up again for a hilarious adventure after their iconic roles in the Welcome franchise.
Bobby Deol has been approached for the project as well. He recently rose to fame after his performance in Animal.
Additionally, actor Chunky Pandey will be seen essaying his iconic role as Aakhri Pasta in the film, and the search for other key cast members is ongoing.

Last year, reports suggested that Housefull 5 is likely to arrive at the theatres this year. However, owing to some production work, the release date of the film was pushed to 2025. Further, Akshay Kumar, too, confirmed the release date and took to his social media accounts to announce the same. He assured his fans of ‘five times’ more entertainment than the previous editions of the franchise and said, “5 times the entertainment is on its way! See you in cinemas on 6th June 2025.”
In a press statement released last year, the creators of the Housefull franchise acknowledged that its popularity comes from its audience. They expressed confidence that Housefull 5 will be equally well-received. “The team has created an exceptional storyline that requires advanced visual effects. To ensure a high-quality cinematic experience, the release has been postponed delivering an enhanced entertainment value,” the statement said.
