Hours after Rihanna left India, American singer Akon’s team spotted in Jamnagar - Netizens sing SRK’s Chammak Challo

Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities are indeed a gala affair. Being held in Jamnagar, Gujarat, the occasion hosts several high-profile celebrities, businesspeople, and socially influential people. Last evening, famous American pop star Rihanna enthralled guests with her musical performance. This morning, she bid adieu to the city. While many people wonder what’s lined up for today’s event, paps have just now spotted the team of famous American singer Akon’s team in the city.

Akon to visit India?

If reports are to be believed, singing legend Akon, who rose to prominence in 2004 following the release of his debut single Locked Up, is all set to be a part of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s pre-wedding festivities. This afternoon, the 50-year-old singer’s team was spotted at the Jamnagar airport.

Those who can recall might know that he collaborated with the music director duo Vishal-Shekhar to pen the English and Hindi lyrics for Chammak Challo, a track featured in the soundtrack of the 2011 Hindi film Ra. One. This video of this track had superstar Shah Rukh Khan and actress Kareena Kapoor Khan together in one frame. Millions of people liked the official video on YouTube back then. Not only this but the song became a chartbuster in 2011.

After spotting the Akon team in the city, many social media users demanded a Chammak Challo reunion today. Some social media users feel that Akon and Shah Rukh Khan are likely to exchange warm wishes with each other this evening.

A few social media users also remarked that only the Ambani family has the power to bring global sensations to India. “Anant and Radhika will get married in July. All the occasions being held from March 1 - March 3 are only pre-wedding ceremonies. Gosh! Digest the fact!” wrote an Instagrammer.

While numerous celebrities are present in the city, a few of them have exited the celebrations owing to prior work commitments. Shraddha Kapoor, her boyfriend Rahul Mody, cricketer Suryakumar Yadav, and actor Ajay Devgn are among those who left Jamnagar this morning.

Indian superstars Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif are present for today and tomorrow.
