Buoyed by the reception for the Hindi and Tamil versions of the Hostel Daze franchise, leading streamer Amazon Prime Video and TVF (The Viral Fever) are joining forces for its Telugu adaptation, titled Hostel Days. With the trailer opening to decent responses recently, the makers promise viewers a fun-filled journey to college days and a nostalgic ride down memory lane.

Directed by Aditya Mandala, the series spanning five episodes tells a simple, relatable story, striking the right balance among emotions, drama, fun, laughter, and worldly wisdom. Ahead of its launch this Thursday, Aditya claims he was a huge fan of Hostel Daze at the time of its release and elaborated on what convinced him to direct the Telugu adaptation.

Hostel Days will tell the story of that one gang everyone loves and wants to become like, something today’s students will relate and look up to, he stated. The USP of the show will be the friendships, bonds, brotherhood, sisterhood that’ll resonate with the college-going lot. “For people like me who have graduated, this will be a sweet nostalgic trip to the best days of our lives,” he added.

The filmmaker also shared how the five-episode Telugu series is slightly different from the Hindi and Tamil versions. While the format of Hostel Daze is similar in Hindi and Tamil, the Telugu version Hostel Days will also shed light on the girls' point of view and focus on their backstory, he mentioned. He saw this as a pathway to explore the characters on the deeper level with changes in tonality and storyline.

Produced by TVF, Hostel Days stars Darahas Maturu, Akshay Lagusani, Mouli Tanuj Prasanth, Anannyaa Akulaa, Aishwarya Holakaal, and Jaiyetri Makana in key roles. The show will be out on Prime Video on July 13 across 240 countries and territories.
