#Homecoming, a musical drama starring Sayani Gupta, Tushar Pandey, Plabita Borthakur, Hussain Dalal and Soham Majumdar is finally ready and is all set to be released soon. Directed and written by Soumyajit Majumdar, the story is set in the City of Joy, Kolkata where a group of friends returns after seven years for a reunion.

The makers have released the trailer of the 90-minute feature and it looks like an emotional rollercoaster ride for a group of friends who reunite on the occasion of Durga Puja at their old theatre rehearsal space. Several memories of the friends who shared the rehearsal space come up and they get caught up in the moment. They are seen struggling with their past and looking for second chances. The trailer beautifully captures the theatre scene of Kolkata and looks all colourful and vibrant with the backdrop of Durga Pujo.

The film marks the directorial debut of the producer Majumdar. The film gives a cosmopolitan touch with dialogues in Bengali, Hindi and English so that it appeals to audiences across geographies. The film, presented by Soumyajit Majumdar Collaborations, is a Lok production. #Homecoming was also selected for NFDC Lab in 2019. It boasts of a multi-award-winning crew.

Director Soumyajit said in a statement that the film has a 'dream team' with more than 30 talented actors from Bollywood and Tollywood as part of an ensemble. It's a national and international award-winning crew that is the driving force behind his first film #Homecoming, he said, adding, "This musical was a lifetime experience for all of us. The love and passion of the misfits towards the film will reflect on the screen. Reunions, friendships and comebacks have found a home in #Homecoming.”

This film has been made with immense love and undeniable passion and I hope it's able to reach as many people as possible," she said in her statement adding a bit about her character. She plays the role of Sri. "Sri is love. She is the woman you cannot look past and get over. You will know what I mean when you watch the film,” she said.

Plabita Borthakur too said that the cast and crew have made it a special project. This was her first time shooting in Kolkata too. "I was excited about it since I read the script and when it all came together, it was beautiful. I love my character Nargis, she's a lot like me. I was a little nervous about the poetry bit though,” she said about her character.
