Home Shanti: Manoj Pahwa says he was experiencing whatever was happening in the series in his real life too

The streaming giant Disney+ Hotstar is now coming up with a warm and feel-good family drama in the form of Home Shanti. The slice-of-life comedy, starring Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak, is about a middle-class family of Dehradun, who aspire to build their own home. It explores the relationship between parents and siblings and how they strengthen in the face of adversaries.

Speaking about the series, the lead actor Manoj Pahwa recalls a strange event. Now, call it deja vu or not, he said he had a moment of happiness when his reel and real-life coincides. The veteran actor was pleasantly surprised by the turn of events.

In his statement, he said when he was shooting for the web series, he was building his own home as well. "There was a sequence wherein we talked about getting the plot cleared to start work, and on the other hand, I had also purchased a small plot in Badlapur and the same work was ongoing. I was thinking that the same thing is happening to me, I have to visit the plot and get the Bhoomi Pujan done and all. So in a way, the same thing is happening with me for what we were shooting for Home Shanti," he said.

The actor had earlier said he fell in love with the story when he heard it for the first time. He called it a “heartfelt and endearing drama”. He also spoke about working with Supriya Pathak again. He said, “Getting back on the sets with Supriya ji was like slipping into comfortable waters for me.”

The series is written by Akshay Asthana, Aakanksha Dua, Nidhi Bisht, Mayank Pandey, Nikhil Sachan and Saurabh Khanna. Produced by Posham Pa Pictures, the series will be released on Disney+ Hotstar on May 6, 2022.
