R Madhavan left the audience impressed in 2024 with his stint in the Ajay Devgn starrer Shaitaan. He played the antagonist in the film, also starring Jyothika and Janki Bodiwala. After receiving a good response, the makers have also planned a sequel for the same. Currently, R Madhavan is gearing up for the release of his first project of 2025, Hisaab Barabar. Revolving around a huge banking scam, the film also features Neil Nitin Mukesh, Kirti Kulhari, and Rashami Desai in key roles. While promoting the upcoming movie, R Madhavan recently spoke about dealing with box office pressure. He also revealed two most horrifying moments of his career.
In a recent chat with SCREEN, the RHTDM actor revealed that he feels horrified on the first day of a film's release or its publicity. On being asked if he finds OTT liberating since there is no box office pressure, he said, "Thank God for that." Further admitting that he feels nervous as he gets closer to the release of his films. He continued, "In fact, the two most horrifying moments for me in my career are the first day of shooting—it's getting progressively difficult—and the first day of publicity and release because everyone is watching, and I feel they’re saying, ‘Nope, you’ve lost it; that’s it, game over.’"
During the same chat, he reflected on his 25 years of career in the industry. Expressing gratitude for being able to play lead roles, Madhavan said, "It’s not easy to survive for 25 years in an industry like this, where people become obsolete in 25 months. To still be doing main leads is something I’m very grateful for. It’s the words of encouragement from people that keep me going; otherwise, I would have been a lost soul by now."
Directed by Ashwani Dhir, Hisaab Barabar will be released on January 24, 2025, on ZEE5. You will be able to watch it through your OTTPlay Premium subscription too. Apart from Hindi, the thriller drama will be available in Tamil and Telugu.
