Hina Khan opens up on promoting Griha Laxmi amid ongoing cancer treatment
In 2024, Hina left everyone shocked after she revealed that she was suffering from stage-three breast cancer. Most of her 2024 went into undergoing chemotherapy. But without losing any hope, Hina made sure to fight the odds. Now, amid her ongoing treatment, she is promoting her upcoming series, Griha Laxmi. While speaking to News18 Showsha, she revealed that her show was supposed to be released in October 2024, but the makers couldn't do it due to her health.
She said, "Kehta hai na ki upar waala sab kuch plan karke rakhte hain. At this point, people are calling me strong because of the way I’m dealing with my diagnosis and treatment. And in the show, I’m playing a strong woman. Everything came together and got inter-connected." She further clarified that releasing the show at this juncture of her life was never a part of the marketing campaign.
Hina Khan feels people will relate to her character
Hina said that nothing was planned, in regards to her series' release. She added, "None of this was planned. We weren’t waiting to start the promotions of Griha Laxmi and release it after my diagnosis. But now that this is happening, people are relating my character to my real-life personality even more." In the series, she will be seen playing the role of a housewife who becomes the ruling queen of the city’s drug world.
Speaking about her character, she said that it brought her a 'lot of excitement and kept her on her toes constantly'. Hina said that she wanted to give it her best, hoping that the audience would be happy with her work.
Griha Laxmi is slated to release on January 16, 2025, on Epic On.
