Hidimbha trailer: Ashwin Babu, Nandita Swetha are after a monstrous kidnapper

Ashwin Babu, who made a mark in Genius and the Raju Gari Gadhi franchise, is headlining an action thriller Hidimbha next. The film is written and directed by Aneel Kanneganti and features Nandita Swetha as the female lead. Gangapatnam Sridhar is bankrolling the actioner under SVK Cinemas which is expected to release this June. Sai Dharam Tej unveiled the film’s trailer today.

Anil Sunkara, the producer behind films like Agent and Bholaa Shankar is the presenter of Hidimbha. The trailer hints that the film unfolds across multiple timelines while trying to explore the motives and the psyche of the antagonist better. The story takes off with a series of missing cases in the city where Ashwin, Nandita play officers who’re under pressure to nab the culprit.

The kidnapper has a strange pattern; he dons a four-horned mask of a goat trying to convey something about his past. It is evident that the criminal is here to seek redemption for the trauma he and his community may have experienced ages ago. A bulked up Ashwin Babu flexes his muscles in a series of high-voltage action sequences, choreographed more like those we see in Boyapati films.

The intense background score, the striking cinematography further the impact of this engaging glimpse that piques our curiosity. Srinivasa Reddy, Sahithi Avancha, Sanjay Swaroop, Shijju, Vidyulekha Raman, Rajiv Kanakala, Shubaleka Sudakar, Pramodhini, Raghu Kunche, Rajeev Pillai, Deepthi Nallamothu play other important roles in Hidimbha, which has music by Vikas Badisa.

B Rajasekar cranks the camera for the film which is edited by M R Varma. Joshuva And Real Satish are the action directors. Kalyana Chakravarthi pens the dialogues while the lyricists are Ramajogaiah Sastry and Pranavam. Sekhar and Yash choreograph the dance numbers. Sharmila Yalisetty is the art director.
