Hidimbha OTT release date: When and where to watch Ashwin Babu, Nandita Swetha’s action thriller

Ashwin Babu, best known for the horror comedy franchise Raju Gari Gadhi spanning three parts, made a mark in other films like Genius, Jatha Kalise, Naanna Nenu Naa Boyfriends as well. He underwent a huge makeover for this year’s release Hidimbha. The latter is an action thriller conceived and directed by Aneel Kanneganti. The film released in theatres on July 20.

Nandita Swetha played the female lead in the thriller bankrolled by Sreedhar Gangapatnam under SVK Cinemas in collaboration with Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments. The film earned decent reviews upon release but had a modest run at the box office. Within three weeks of its theatrical release, Hidimbha is all set for its OTT premiere.

Leading OTT platform aha has acquired its post-theatrical streaming rights and decided to premiere the film on August 10. Confirming the news, aha wrote, “HIDIMBHA..Veta modhalu kaabothundi! Get ready for bloody scary BLOCK BUSTER. #HidimbhaOnAHA Premieres August 10 at 7 PM.”

The story is set in the heart of Hyderabad where a series of mysterious disappearances of women sends shockwaves through the city, leaving the police department grappling with the case. A special officer Aadya (Nandita Sweta) is appointed to solve this complex case alongside ACP Abhay (Ashwin Babu). The twists, action sequences and the antagonist’s backstory drew praise from viewers.

While B Rajasekhar was the cinematographer of the film which had music by Vikas Badisa. M.R. Varma edited the film while Sharmila Yalisetty is the art director. Kalyana Chakravarthy wrote the dialogues. Real Sathish, Jashuva, Aneel Kanneganti choreographed the action sequences. aha’s recent releases include Intinti Ramayanam, Malli Pelli and Samajavaragamana.
