Here's why Vijay and Thalapathy 67 are trending on Twitter after Kamal Haasan's Vikram released

Lokesh Kanagaraj's Kamal Haasan-starrer Vikram was released across the world a few hours ago, and opened to good response among critics and film buffs. Among the many highlights of the action thriller is the universe the director created which brought together characters in this film and the ones from his sophomore movie Kaithi (streaming on Disney+ Hotstar).

Suriya's much-hyped cameo as Rolex, a ruthless criminal, is another attraction of the movie. Movie lovers are looking forward to the next instalment of the project which is likely to feature Karthi's character Dilli from Kaithi, Rolex and Kamal's Vikram.

While the reason is obvious for fans of Kamal, Suriya and Karthi to celebrate the unlimited prospects of Vikram's upcoming installments, Vijay's fans are also over the moon. According to sources, Lokesh is likely to helm the Beast star next, which has been tentatively titled Thalapathy 67.

It is expected that Vijay, who is now busy with Vamshi Paidipally's Thalapathy 66, will join the project after completing the former. Though Lokesh had planned to come up with Kaithi 2 next initially, he hinted at beginning Thalapathy 67 first in a few media interactions recently.

Fans of Vijay have been celebrating the unanimous response to Vikram on social media. They hope that their matinee idol teaming up with Lokesh again after Master (streaming on Amazon Prime) will guarantee a much-needed hit, especially after his last outing Beast (streaming on Netflix) didn't meet expectations.

Needless to say, the hashtags #Vijay and #Thalapathy67 have been trending on Twitter ever since the first shows of Vikram were completed in India and abroad. Meanwhile, the grapevine has it that an update on Lokesh's next will be out this month itself.s
