The audience's reaction to the latest Malayalam film, Kishkindha Kaandam, has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic since its theatrical release. The film, directed by Dinjith Ayyathan, has proven to be the highest-grossing film of Asif Ali's career as the lead actor. In the meantime, the movie, which had a theatrical release during Onam, has emerged as Mollywood's most profitable production of 2024 after Naslen-starrer Premalu

Why Kishkindha Kaandam turned out to be a profitable film?

After eight days of release, Kishkindha Kaandam allegedly crossed the Rs 25 crore threshold at the global box office. If the movie's box office performance holds up in a similar way in the coming days, it will undoubtedly cross the Rs 50 crore mark. Should this be the case, it would represent a noteworthy achievement for the film, given its modest budget and mediocre start at the box office.

Because it was filmed in a single location for the most part, the film has a relatively small budget. The film's enormous demand and positive reception in theatres across the states also allowed it to sell its OTT rights for an incredibly high sum. It is amazing that a movie with no typical commercial components or huge star cast can nonetheless achieve such high demand.

Premalu, a Malayalam blockbuster of 2024

The film, which is directed by Girish AD. turned out to be one of the most successful hits in Malayalam this year. With Naslen and Mamitha Baiju playing the key parts, the movie, which hit the big screen in February, was overwhelmingly well-received by viewers worldwide. Premalu achieved a significant milestone of earning Rs 125 crore at the global box office after 45 days of its release. 

The romantic comedy turned out to be one of the most profitable Malayalam productions ever. It should be noted that the Girish AD film's whole budget, including marketing and publicity expenses, was approximately Rs 9 crore. Both Aha Telugu and Disney+ Hotstar offer streaming options for the film.
