Pelli SandaD, the conceptual sequel to the K Raghavendra Rao directorial Pelli Sandadi (starring Srikanth, Deepthi Bhatnagar, Ravali), that released in 1996), helmed by first-time director Gowri Ronanki, made it to theatres on October 15 this year. The sequel marking the debut of Srikanth's son Roshann as a lead actor, featured Sree Leela as the female lead.

Despite releasing with minimal hype and facing tough competition from Akhil Akkineni, Pooja Hegde starrer Most Eligible Bachelor at the box office, Pelli SandaD had a victorious run, drawing family crowds in huge numbers. The family entertainer is now getting ready for its OTT premiere. Disney+ Hostar has bagged the streaming rights of Pelli SandaD and is expected to stream the film on the platform starting December 19, as per reports.

It's quite interesting that in days when films begin to premiere on OTT platforms barely a month within its theatrical release, Pelli SandaD has enjoyed a two month window (leading to its OTT debut). One of the key reasons behind Pelli SandaD's success was the blockbuster album by MM Keeravaani, whose songs like Premante Enti, Madhura Nagarilo, Bujjulu turned out to be instant chartbusters.

In addition, the goodwill that K Raghavendra Rao (who has also acted in the film besides being a directorial supervisor) enjoys among audiences had worked in favour of the film. Sunil Kumar Nama has cranked the camera for Pelli SandaD. Madhavi Kovelamudi, Shobhu Yarlagadda, Prasad Devineni have jointly produced the film which has dialogues by Sreedhar Seepana. Tammiraju, Kiran Kumar Manne are the editor and the art director respectively.

Rajendra Prasad, Jhansi, Rao Ramesh, Posani Krishna Murali, Prakash Raj, Shakalaka Shankar form the supporting cast.
