The shooting of Siddharth-starrer Takkar was wrapped up more than two years ago. Its first look was unveiled by Vishal a few days after the shooting was completed. Billed as a stylish action movie, Takkar has been directed by Karthik G Krish of Kappal fame (streaming on Zee5).

Though the makers were planning to release the movie in 2020, COVID-19 poured water on their plans. Now, they have come up with an announcement which is sure to leave fans of Siddharth elated. The team will release a glimpse video tomorrow at 5 pm. Along with the announcement, they also released a poster which features Siddharth and its female lead Divyansha Kaushik.

The film marks the Kollywood debut of Divyansha, who was recently in the news for bagging the pan Indian project Michael, which stars Vijay Sethupathi, Sundeep Kishan and Gautham Menon. Takkar is the second collaboration of Siddharth and Karthik after Saithan Ka Bachcha which is yet to see the light of the day.

Produced by Sudhan and Jayaram under the banner of Passion Studios, the film has Nivas K Prasanna composing music, GA Gowtham editing and Vanchinathan Murugesan handling cinematography.

Abhimanyu Singh, Vigneshkanth, Ramdoss and Yogi Babu among others play important characters in the movie which has car racing as a crucial element in the story. Meanwhile, Saithan Ka Bachcha has Raashi Khanna playing the female lead in it and Santhosh Narayanan composing music. Aravinnd Singh and Anthony have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the project.

Siddharth, whose last theatrical release in Tamil was Aruvam (streaming on Amazon Prime Video), was previously seen in Inmai from the anthology Navarasa (streaming on Netflix). He currently has the magnum opus Indian 2 in his kitty.
