Jersey, starring Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur, set to hit theatres on April 14, has been pushed back to April 22. The film would have clashed with Thalapathy Vijay's Beast and Yash's KGF: Chapter 2 if it had been released as planned. During a recent interaction, Shahid told IndiaToday.in that they had carefully considered releasing Jersey with KGF 2 and Beast.

Shahid indicated before the release of Jersey that theatres would be able to accommodate all three films throughout the festival weekend. According to the actor, they have certainly given it some attention, and everyone thinks it's a good idea as it's a significant holiday. Many big films can be released over the holidays, and Shahid believes Beast is primarily aimed at a different audience, while KGF 2 is an action movie. The actor stated that Jersey is mostly a family film. Thus, the genres are quite distinct, so they believe it is OK.

Mrunal echoed Shahid's sentiments, saying that she believes it's been two years. Audiences did not have the opportunity to visit the theatres and take in the atmosphere. Thus, they are giving viewers a lot of options.

Shahid went on to say that every major holiday has two major flicks, and it's all right. However, having more films available over the holidays is always a good idea because people are more likely to go out.

Jersey, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is the official Hindi version of the Telugu superhit of the same name, which featured Nani in the lead role. The film will now be released on April 2 in theatres. On April 14, Yash's KGF: Chapter 2, directed by Prashanth Neel, will be released in five languages. Similarly, Thalapathy Vijay's Beast, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, will also be released in different languages from April 13 onwards.
