Earlier this week, it was announced that the third instalment of the horror comedy franchise, Aranmanai 3, directed by Sundar C, will be having a Telugu dubbed release, titled as Anthahpuram. Arya, Raashii Khanna and Andrea Jeremiah play the leads in the film, while Sakshi Agarwal, Vivek, Yogi Babu and Manobala essay crucial roles. Anthahpuram, presented by Udhayanidhi Stalin (under Red Giant Movies), Arun Kumar (Benz Media) and Khushbu (under Avani Cinemax), is hitting theatres on December 31. Ganga Entertainments have bagged the distribution rights for the Telugu version.
Talking about Aranmanai 3's release in Telugu, filmmaker Sundar C said, "Telugu audiences have always been receptive to good films. There are several elements in this film that would appeal to crowds in Telugu states. The horror and comedy sequences in the film will strike a chord with one and all. Anthahpuram is high on VFX and is made on a grand canvas. We are releasing the film on December 31. More details about the pre-release event and promotional activities will be announced shortly."
Anthahpuram is Raashii Khanna's first film in the horror comedy space and the makers believe that the curiosity about her performance in a new genre will have the crowds excited. Despite garnering negative reviews all over, Aranmanai 3 surprisingly clicked at the TN box office. The prequels to the film, released as Kalavathi and Chandrakala in Telugu, also tasted success at the ticket window. Arya, on a high after receiving laurels for his performance in Sarpatta Parampara in Telugu, is getting ready to entertain audiences again.
Aranmanai 3 is currently streaming on ZEE5. Meanwhile, Sundar C's last release in Telugu was the Vishal, Tamannaah starrer Action, before which he had directed the Tamil remake of Attarintiki Daaredi, Vantha Rajavathaan Varuven, featuring Simbu, Megha Akash in lead roles.
