Sanjay Leela Bhansali is back with yet another larger-than-life project. With Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, the noted filmmaker ventures into the OTT space. This project is his first web series. As soon as the first look of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar dropped today, netizens gave a green signal to the SLB directorial. The series stars Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Segal, and Richa Chadha. It will premiere on Netflix.

Netizens react to Heeramandi's first look

The makers of Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar shared the first look on Instagram. By the looks of this glimpse, Sanjay Leela Bhansali's series promises to be a mix of grandeur, guns, and glamour. The first look has left many people intrigued and it will be interesting to see what SLB will have to offer in the trailer of Heeramandi. 

As far as netizens' reactions are concerned, they found Heeramandi to be yet another 'fascinating' magnum opus by Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

What is Heeramandi all about?

Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is set in the pre-independence era of India against a freedom movement. As per the official synopsis of the SLB directorial, the series also sheds light on a young heir who chooses love over succession in the power struggle in Heeramandi.

Earlier, in an official statement, Sanjay Leela Bhansali had called Heeramandi an 'important milestone' in his journey as a filmmaker. The director had confirmed that it is a first-of-a-kind series based on the courtesans of Lahore. He also called the project an ambitious and all-encompassing show, which will soon premiere on Netflix.
