Priyanka Chopra Jonas - who has been making headlines lately, as the ‘desi girl’ is busy promoting her upcoming Amazon Prime Video spy thriller television series Citadel, co-starring Hollywood actor Richard Madden - has some more exciting news about her doing the rounds. The actress and global icon has signed an action movie - titled Heads of State - with wrestler-turned-actor John Cena and actor Idris Elba, the filming of which will begin next month.

While the sci-fi action thriller series Citadel - created by David Weil and the Russo brothers - marks Priyanka’s OTT debut, Amazon Studios’ Heads of State seems like yet another interesting collaboration. Written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec, the new film will be directed by Ilya Naishuller. The narrative is inspired by a story by Harrison Query. Shooting for Heads of State is reportedly starting in May, this year. It’s expected to mix elements of films like Air Force One and Midnight Run. Priyanka took to Instagram to announce the news. “On to the next 🎬🎥 @idriselba @johncena @naishuller @amazonstudios Let’s gooo!!”, she wrote.

Apart from Citadel and Heads of State, Priyanka will be seen in another Hollywood project - Love Again, co-starring Sam Heughan and Celine Dion. The film is releasing next month. Meanwhile, she will also be seen in Ending Things with Anthony Mackie. In Bollywood, the actress will star in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa.

Cut to Citadel, Priyanka and Richard will be seen as agents Mason Kane and Nadia Sinh respectively in the series. Sharing her experience of working with the makers, the actress recently said at a press conference in Mumbai, “I think they’re incredible. Working with Joe and Anthony [Russo] and the whole AGBO team, bringing in David [Weil], there was such a sense of collaboration that they had with us. They trusted the actors. They asked us questions about our characters, what we thought our characters would do. So, there was this incredible trust and faith, which we absolutely had in them because of their credibility, but they showed in us as well. So when you walk onto set, it was never us and using, it was all of us together, creating the show. So, we feel a sense of ownership and we feel a sense of belonging because it’s ours, because we put in. They helped us. They encouraged us to protect our characters. They encouraged us to talk about our characters. And I think that made it a really wonderful work experience.”
