The makers of Dulquer Salmaan and Venky Atluri’s film Lucky Baskhar unveiled Meenakshi Chaudhary's role as Sumathi

We had earlier reported that actor Dulquer Salmaan will be headlining filmmaker Venky Atluri's film titled Lucky Baskhar. The makers on Tuesday revealed the character poster of actor Meenakshi Chaudhary from the film, for the occasion of the actor's birthday. Meenakshi will be playing the role of Sumathi in Lucky Baskhar.
For the occasion of Meenakshi’s birthday on Tuesday, the makers of Lucky Baskhar revealed the character poster of the actor. One can see Meenakshi, clad in a simple saree, sitting by the entrance of a room as she looks straight into the camera and smiles. A scooter is seen by the side against what looks like a retro backdrop. Her character is named Sumathi.

Lucky Baskhar is directed by filmmaker Venky Atluri who previously made Vaathi/Sir with Dhanush. The project is bankrolled by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, under the banners Sithara Entertainments, Srikara Studios, and Fortune Four Studios. While the project is mounted by a Telugu production, Lucky Baskhar will have a multi-lingual release in languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi.
The upcoming film is expected to be a period thriller with Dulquer seen in the titular role. Earlier, the makers had released a poster of the actor dressed in retro style. As per reports, Dulquer will feature as a bank cashier in the film. The technical team includes GV Prakash scoring the music with Nimish Ravi cranking the camera. A release date for Lucky Baskhar is yet to be announced.
Meenakshi had two releases this year so far. In Tamil, she was seen alongside RJ Balaji in Singapore Saloon and Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram in Telugu. Besides Lucky Baskhar, she is also part of Vijay's upcoming film GOAT - Greatest of All Time. The film is directed by Venkat Prabhu with Meenakshi playing the female lead.
The actor, who predominantly works in the Telugu film industry, also has Matka with Varun Tej. The film is based on gambling in the late 1950s, with Karuna Kumar of Palasa fame wielding the megaphone.
