A report in a trade magazine has reportedly stated that the music major 'T Series' has accused the makers of the film of not taking permission for music and audio-visual song rights

Ever since the time the next instalment of the ‘Hera Pheri’ got announced, it has been making news for many reasons. Firstly, it came as a shock to everyone that, the said film will now be directed by Farhad Samji, contrary to the popular buzz, which stated that, the film will be directed by Anees Bazmee. Then came the news about Kartik Aaryan, not just being a part of the comedy-caper, but also of him having ‘replaced’ the film’s original hero Akshay Kumar. There were many who started believing in this piece of news buzz, as Kartik Aaryan had already done a film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’ (with Kiara Advani and Tabu), wherein he replaced ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’s original actor Akshay Kumar.
Just as when, the news circles were buzzing with the news of Kartik Aaryan replacing Akshay Kumar, there came in another news (as per a report in Mid Day), which had the veteran actor Paresh Rawal stating that Kartik Aaryan might not be a part of ‘Hera Pheri 3 at all! In the interview, Paresh Rawal had said that, “As far as I know, initially, both Kartik and Akshay were to do the film, but it didn’t work out. I don’t know what happened.”

The latest controversy which has now brewed in the next instalment of ‘Hera Pheri’ is that, the music giant and production house T-Series has now reportedly issued a public notice to the makers of ‘Hera Pheri 4’, in which they have claimed that the visual and audio rights to every song in the franchise. The said notice also read that the production house is the sole and exclusive right holder of all copyright of all Music and Audio Visual Song Rights’ of the franchise in all mediums, as reported in The Times Of India.
The said news report stated that, according to a trade magazine, T Series has issued a public notice to the makers of ‘Hera Pheri 4’. And as per an excerpt from the notice, it reads as, “Notice is hereby given to the public in general and film trade in particular that Super Cassettes Industries Private Limited (T-Series)is the sole and absolute owner of copyright in relation to the music and audio visual songs i.e. Master Sound Recordings, Literary Works and Musical Works embodied in the Sound Recordings, and Audio Visuals of all the songs (hereinafter referred to as “Music and Audio Visual Song Rights”) for entire world in perpetuity for exploitation on all modes, media and formats (whether existing now and / or arising in future)in the Hindi language film currently “Untitled”, to be released as a franchise of the ‘HERA PHERI’ films (hereinafter referred to as the “Franchise Film”); The Music and Audio Visual Song Rights were assigned by Base Industries Group to T-Series.”
