But things seem to have changed after the Andhra Pradesh government revealed that the assembly and Lok Sabha elections would be held on May 13, 2024. Ever since this date was announced, news is that the release of Kalki 2898 AD has been postponed.

But the makers, Vyjayanthi Movies, have yet to confirm this. For the last two days, there have been reports that the makers are looking at May 30 as the new release date for Kalki 2898 AD. This news has started to spread thick and fast.
We have now learned from our sources that this date is confirmed. One of the sources close to the film's unit revealed to us that the makers have locked this date and will announce the same soon. They are now holding discussions with various distributors for the same.

One industry insider says that May 30 is the perfect date to release the Prabhas starrer as the elections in AP will be over by then, and the government will be formed, clearing all the hurdles for Kalki 2898 AD's release.
The latest news is that the makers are happy with the date and feel that the election fever will also slow down a bit in various states of India. The makers are busy with the post-production formalities of the film as of now.
