After multiple disappointments in 2023 - Maama Mascheendra and Hunt - Sudheer Babu is keen on bouncing back with a bang. Two of his films, Maa Nanna Superhero and Harom Hara, are slated to release early next year. While Maa Nanna Superhero is a father-son drama directed by Abhilash Reddy Kankara (who also directed ZEE5’s Loser), Harom Hara is an actioner helmed by Sehari fame Gnanasagar Dwaraka.

Among the two, Harom Hara is extra special for Sudheer Babu; it’s the first pan-Indian film in his career which will have a release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages. Some of the biggest names in Indian cinema - Prabhas, Mammootty, Tiger Shroff, Vijay Sethupathy, and Kichcha Sudeep - unveiled the teaser across multiple languages on Monday.

The teaser, launched yesterday, promises a rustic action thriller featuring a protagonist with several grey shades. His partner even advises him that there’s nothing romantic about being generous or treading the right path. In a later conversation with Sunil, he talks of the necessity to generate fear to be the king of the jungle. The cinematography, action sequences and the edits make an impression.

Harom Hara embraces the Chittoor (Kuppam) slang seamlessly and the film has rooted storytelling with all elements in place to please the masses. Finally, we may have a Sudheer Babu film that capitalises on his strengths with a good premise shot on a lavish canvas. The star cast comprising Malvika Sharma, Sunil, Jaya Prakash Akshara Gowda, Lakki Lakshman, Ravi Kale, Arjun Gowda is equally impressive.

With the right promotions, release strategy, Harom Hara has the potential to make a mark at the box office. The film’s shoot has neared completion. Chaitan Bharadwaj scores the music for the film while Aravind Viswanathan cranks the camera. Raviteja Girijala is the editor. Sumanth G Naidu is bankrolling the film under Sree Subrahmanyeshwara Cinemas.
