Season 5 of Harley Quinn will premiere this month after the spinoff Kite Man: Hell Yeah! It gives fans a taste of the impending mayhem that the beloved DC anti-hero is sure to face. More importantly, Gotham City is no longer the backdrop for the series. Harley and Poison Ivy are relocating to Metropolis in an effort to start over. Nevertheless, there will be some grey areas. On top of reconnecting with old friends, they'll have to face new villains. For those curious about the new season, here are some details.

Brainiac as the main villain in Harley Quinn Season 5

The trailer's big reveal is that Brainiac will be the main villain. The pre-Crisis Brainiac serves as inspiration for this iteration of the Coluan megalomaniac. He plans to use the warship, which he has come to symbolically represent as a skull, to subjugate Earth in his "rage against imperfection." His pet monkey, Koko, accompanies the extraterrestrial terrorist. Cute and sinister all at once. In the video, we witness his drones storming Metropolis, prompting Harley, Ivy, Bane, and the rest to launch a resistance. Aside from that revolution, there will be further obstacles.

Red X, a villain familiar to viewers of the Teen Titans series, is among the other villains they see. Recent years have seen DC's revival of the assassin. A lot of people think that Behind the Mask is a reworking of the story. Talia al Ghul revived Dick Grayson from the dead in the Lazarus Pit, and he is testing his peers, not the real Dick. Since Nightwing and Harley were pals, this bodes poorly for an upcoming horrific story involving him.

In addition to the Enchantress, we see her gathering an army of the undead, and Ivy appears ready to face off against creatures linked to the Green, the magical energy that gives life. Following his antics and inability to utilise the Anti-Life Equation in the Kite Man spinoff, Lex Luthor will be returning, according to the press release. Who knows if Lex Luthor's feud with the Legion of Doom will continue, or if he will once again be completely hostile toward Harley?

Harley and Ivy's new beginnings

After Season 4's devastation turned Gotham into a wasteland, Harley and Ivy are ready for a change of scenery. Harley is trying to find a new job, and Ivy is collaborating on an environmental initiative with Lena Luthor. According to previous versions, it is unclear whether Lena will continue to be Lex's sister or daughter or if she will stay an ally or enemy. The influence of the Luthors on Harley's family is certain. A new tribe is emerging.

In addition to Bane's crush Betty, Goldilocks from the Kite Man is also present. Their family seems to be quite content. When Brainiac attacks a nursery full of newborns, Bane defends them too, implying that he wants to be a dad to every one of them. He learnt this from the Kite Man cartoon: he thrives in loving environments. A newfound sense of purpose and a swollen heart are both visible in Bane.

The fact that we see King Shark struggling with his young sharks is another hint that parenthood will be a major plot point. These children also target Frank the Plant. The teaser indicates that this pack will feature a significant amount of humor. Clayface, meanwhile, is very much alive and eager to keep performing on stage. His contemporaries are more focused on their personal lives than their careers. But being comic relief on the crew and remaining true to his trade are his top priorities.

Harley's attempt at a job at the Daily Planet

Harley is reportedly planning to apply for a job at the Daily Planet as a result of her disrespectful behaviour. Karl Kesel and Terry Dodson could adapt their Metropolis Mailbag arc from the 2000s, where Harley tried her hand at writing love columns. Lois Lane's courageous journalist stands by her side as she battles crime. Lois realises she isn't good at this, and she even punches a villain. Bruce Wayne also lends a hand. His lack of renown as "The Dark Knight" suggests he may be more involved in advising and supplying than actually donning the cape and cowl.

It seems as though Bruce is still struggling to process the loss of Dick. Unexpectedly, they are collaborating with the Joker. After becoming the mayor of Gotham and raising a family of his own, the Joker's actions tie into his atonement. While informing Lois and Bruce that he is uncertain of Harley's ability to rescue the day, the Clown Prince of Crime formally requests Superman and the Justice League's assistance. This hints at an upcoming fight with more extraterrestrials, magic, and metahumans, which will cause a new form of disbelief and strife. Fans should anticipate that Harley will have a larger coalition this time around, including members outside of the Bat-Family, as Superman will be in action if the Joker fails to contribute value.

Voice cast returns for Harley Quinn Season 5

Almost every voice actor from the DC cartoon's earlier seasons is returning for this one. Kaley Cuoco reprises her role as Harley, while Alan Tudyk reprises her role as Poison Ivy as Lake Bell. In Season 1 of Creature Commandos, Alan Tudyk voices a variety of characters, including Clayface and the Joker once again. James Adomian will return to his role as Bane, J.B. Smoove will portray Frank, and Ron Funches will once again portray King Shark.

Briana Cuoco (Kaley's sister) plays Batgirl, Aisha Tyler voices Lena, James Wolk voices Superman, Sanaa Lathan plays Catwoman, and Diedrich Bader is back as Batman. Stephen Fry, who played Brainiac in V for Vendetta, replaces Natalie Morales as Lois Lane's voice. As a replacement for Giancarlo Esposito, who voiced Lex in Captain America: Brave New World, the late Lance Reddick provided the voice for Lex in Kite Man. Amuche Chukudebelu took Reddick's place in the spinoff. Lex's voice actor for the upcoming Harley Quinn season is a mystery.
