#HappyBirthdaySuperstarRajinikanth: Rajinikanth slays it as Muthuvel Pandian in Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer

Superstar Rajinikanth is back! And this time around as Jailer Muthuvel Pandian. The team of his upcoming film, Jailer, dropped the glimpse of the actor's character in the film on the occasion of the actor's birthday today (December 12). In the video, which lasts around 1 minute and 40 seconds, Superstar Rajinikanth is seen getting ready to venture out. In a dimly-lit room, we get to see the actor tying his shoelaces, putting on a spectacle and towards the end taking out a machete. The video is complemented with the mass music by the film's music composer Anirudh Ravichander.​

Taking to its social media handle, Sun Pictures had shared, "Muthuvel Pandian has arrived! Happy Birthday Superstar Rajinikanth https://youtu.be/DObwdl3xB7U @Nelsondilpkumar @anirudhofficial #Jailer #MuthuvelPandian #HBDSuperstar #HBDSuperstarRajinikanth(sic)."

The film's director Nelson Dilipkumar, too, wrote, "Happiesttt birthday to the most humble,energetic and charismatic #SuperstarRajinikanth sir @rajinikanth#jailer #MuthuvelPandian #HBDSuperstarRajinikanth (sic)."

Earlier, during the day,Anirudh Ravichander had shared that the glimpse will arrive at 6pm. Taking to his social media handle, "#HappyBirthdayThalaiva Love you #Jailer #MuthuvelPandian Arrives at 6pm #HappyBirthdaySuperstarRajinikanth #HBDSuperstarRajinikanth @rajinikanth (sic)."

The team had earlier released a video in which the entire star cast and technical team had shared their birthday wish. In the video, Nelson Dilipkumar is seen saying that he is happy and proud to have worked with the Superstar. Malayalam actor Vinayakan, who is making his Tamil debut with the film, says, "It was my pleasure to have worked with Superstar Rajini sir in the film Jailer."Kannada Superstar Shiva Rajkumar says that he feels proud to share screen space with the Superstar.

Jailer marks the maiden collaboration between Superstar Rajinikanth and the Beast director. The star cast includes Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu and Vinayakan. While Jailer will mark Kannada Superstar Shiva Rajkumar's debut in Tamil, the film will also mark Ramya Krishnan's comeback in a Rajinikanth film. Cinematography is by Vijay Kartik Kannan and editing is by R Nirmal. The film, bankrolled by Sun Pictures is slated to hit screens in mid-2023.​
