Sonam Kapoor and Anand S Ahuja’s son, Vayu, has turned one year old today! Celebrations are going on in full swing at the Kapoor mansion in Mumbai at the moment. To keep up with the spirit of the celebration, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan has dropped an adorable birthday wish for Sonam’s son Vayu.
For the uninitiated, Sonam and Kareena are distantly related siblings. Sonam Kapoor's grandfather Surinder Kapoor was Kareena Kapoor's great-grandfather Prithviraj Kapoor's cousin.
Taking to Instagram today, Kareena Kapoor shared an adorable picture of Vayu sitting comfortably in the arms of Sonam Kapoor. In it, Kareena wrote, “Happy Birthday to this little bundle of joy! Sending so much love and blessings to Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja.”
Last year on this date, Sonam and Anand welcomed their first child, Vayu, into their lives. Sonam and Anand had beautifully captioned the Instagram post which read, “In the spirit of the force that has breathed new meaning into our lives... In the spirit of Hanuman and Bheem who embody immense courage and strength... In the spirit of all that is sacred, life-giving and eternally ours, we seek blessings for our son, Vayu Kapoor Ahuja. Thank you for your continued wishes and blessings for Vayu and his family.”
What does Vayu mean?
As explained by Sonam and Anand, “In Hindu scriptures Vayu is one of the paanch tatvas. He is the deity of breath, the spiritual father of Hanuman, Bheem and Madhav and He is the incredibly powerful lord of wind. Praana is Vayu, a guiding force of life and intelligence in the universe. All the deity's of Praana, Indra, Shiva and Kali relate to Vayu. He can breathe life into beings as easily as he can destroy evil. Vayu is said to be heroic, brave and mesmerizingly beautiful.”
Interestingly, Sonam’s father, Anil Kapoor’s name also means God of Wind.
On the work front, Sonam Kapoor recently headlined the JioCinema film, Blind. It received mixed reactions from critics globally.
