Director Prasanth Varma, who’s time and again delivered out of the box fares like Awe, Kalki, Zombie Reddy, is pinning all his hopes on the mythological action adventure HanuMan, inspired by the mythological figure from the Ramayana. Teja Sajja plays the lead role in the film while Amritha Aiyer is the leading lady. Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Vinay Rai, Getup Srinu essay other crucial characters.
The film’s teaser released to a humungous response a few months ago which convinced the makers to work extensively on the post-production. Initially, HanuMan was to release in May 2023 but was pushed to provide a better viewing experience in terms of CGI and VFX work. Later, the team confirmed that the film will be hitting screens worldwide for Sankranthi 2024.
With a series of films lining up for Sankranthi release - Naa Saami Ranga, VD13, Guntur Kaaram - there were doubts if HanuMan will continue to occupy the packed festive slot. Reasserting their release and promotional plans, Prasanth Varma shared a key update today. “#HanuMan movie promotions will start from this #GaneshChaturthi #Sankranthi2024,” he tweeted.
HanuMan is set in the hilly town Anjanadri revolving around an adventurous youngster. What connects him to Hanuman and how does he teach a lesson to the evil lot (lead by Vinay Rai)? We’ll know soon. The film has multiple composers - Anudeep Dev, Gowra Hari, Jay Krish and Krishna Saurabh. The reimagined version of Hanuman Chalisa impressed many listeners recently.
The actioner is produced by K Niranjan Reddy under Primeshow Entertainment and presented by Chaitanya. Shivendra cranks the camera while the screenplay is written by Scriptsville, a script-development startup headed by Prasanth Varma himself. Raj Deepak Shetty, Vennela Kishore and Satya are also part of the cast. The film is slated to release in Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, English, Spanish, Korean, Chinese and Japanese.
