Kriti Sanon to play the lead in Hansal Mehta's Meena Kumari Biopic?

Hansal Mehta is one of the most prominent directors in the industry. In the year 2020, his super hit directed series Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story set ablaze the OTT platforms. The talented filmmaker is now all set to make a biopic on the legendary actress Meena Kumari and try to rope Kriti Sanon into the titular role. 

According to a report on ETimes, a reliable source recently revealed that the production giant T-series is backing the project and has strongly felt that Hansal is the best filmmaker to direct the biopic. "The makers feel he (Hansal) is the right man to helm the Meena Kumari biopic," the source added.

Although, the latest project is still awaiting the Mimi actress' signature. Meanwhile, Kriti is currently in talks for the Hindi remake of the 2004 Hollywood crime-action film Kill Bill which stars Uma Thurman in the lead role.

Apart from Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, which is available to stream on Sony LIV, Hansal has made some of the acclaimed films in Bollywood such as the Rajkummar Rao starrer Shahid in 2012 and Chhalaang in 2020. Manoj Bajpayee's Aligarh and Rajkumar starrer Omerta are a few more great films directed by the acclaimed filmmaker. 

Meanwhile, Kriti was last seen in the Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchhan Paandey and now the actress is busy with some of her most anticipated projects including Shehzada opposite Kartik Aaryan, Bhediya with Varun Dhawan, Ganapath alongside Tiger Shroff and the Prabhas starrer magnum opus pan-Indian movie Adipurush, which also has Saif Ali Khan in an antagonist character.
