Hacks, the Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe award winning comedy show from HBO, is available to audiences in India on JioCinema, where the third season is currently ongoing. But if you do not have a JioCinema subscription yet and still want to watch this hilarious show starring Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, among others, there is another way. Netflix, as it turns out, is also home to the show in India, although it is a season behind. At the moment, subscribers have access to season 1 of the show on Netflix, but come Saturday (June 1), all 8 episodes of Season 2 will also drop.

All about Hacks

Season 1 of Hacks follows Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), a standup comedy veteran who has had a long residency at the Palmetto Casino, and is at risk of losing the same unless she reinvents her act to suit modern-day audiences. Young writer Ava (Hannah Einbinder), who lost her job after a tweet about a senator and his fay son, is sent by her agent to work with Deborah. The duo, of course, do not hit it off from the word go, but over the course of time, push each other in the right direction.

Season 2, which got Jean Smart her second Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, focuses on her character Deborah perfecting her new standup material and revealing previously unknown details about her personal life, while on tour.

Apart from recurring cast members like Megan Stalter, Poppy Liu, Kaitlin Olson, Jane Adams, Luenell, etc., season 2 also guest stars Ming-Na Wen, Martha Kelly and Laurie Metcalf. Season 2 has 8 episodes of 30-35 minute run-time each.

Once you are done and dusted with Season 2 and can’t wait for Season 3 to drop on Netflix, well, you know where to head.
