In 2018, Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s Haami was a huge box office success with young actor Broto Banerjee stealing the hearts of the audience. A simple story about a city school, conflict, and competition between parents and the innocence of young children led to a massive box office success for the film. Besides directing, Shiboprosad’s performance as Laltu, protagonist Bhutu’s (Broto) father has also charmed the audience. Gargee RoyChowdhury too has impressed as Bhutu’s mother. After four years, a sequel of the hit drama, Haami 2, is all set to hit the theatres this Christmas. On September 17, the team announced the release plan.
Directed by hit duo Nandita and Shiboprosad, this movie also stars Gargee and Shiboprosad in the lead. Besides, Kharaj Mukherjee, Prosenjit Chatterjee, and Anjan Dutt will be seen as important characters. While Broto Banerjee is unlikely to be a part of the film, three young actors, Ritodeep Sengupta, Shreyan Ghosh, and Aritrika Chowdhuri, will be seen as the lead actors.
The story revolves around a seven/eight-year-old boy. He is a prodigal child, who can perform difficult mathematical problems, understand tough socio-economic issues in the country, and can readily answer questions within a jiffy. On September 17, the day of Viswakarma Puja, the director duo, along with Gargee, introduced the child actors. Besides, they made 500 ‘Haami 2 kites’ and flew them from different parts of the city.
Nandita shared, “It is a pleasure for us to introduce the talented kids who have worked in this film. They have performed extremely well and I hope people will enjoy seeing them on the big screen.”
Gargee said, “We had great fun while shooting the film. Today is a big day for all of us. I hope people will shower love on these kids in the same way they loved Bhutu.”
This year, Windows Productions has already released Baba, Baby O…, Belashuru, and Lokkhi Chele.
