Pa Ranjith's banner Neelam Productions is known to churn out film with quality content. After the success of Blue Star, the banner took to social media on Thursday to announce that the production for its next film has begun.
The film is set to star actor-composer GV Prakash and Shivani Rajashekar in the lead roles. Notably, GV Prakash is currently working with Pa Ranjith's upcoming period action directorial, Thangalaan as a music composer.
On Thursday, Neelam Productions posted on its X (formerly Twitter) handle that the shooting for its next production has gone on floors. The handle also shared a few stills from the location, featuring Ranjith with the primary team members, including GV Prakash and Shivani. “A start to a new chapter. The shoot for our next production begins today with bright smiles and fond memories,” the banner wrote.
The yet-to-be-titled film is directed by Akiran Moses. Besides GV Prakash and Shivani, the film also stars Malayalam actor Sreenath Bhasi who was recently seen in Manjummel Boys, Pasupathy, and Lingesh, among others. With editing handled by Selva RK, Jaya Ragu is the art director. The makers are yet to announce the release date of the film.
GV Prakash and Ranjith will be collaborating as music composer and director, respectively, for the upcoming big-budget film Thangalaan. The film, starring Vikram in the lead role, is set against the backdrop of Kolar Gold Fields and will be a period action drama. The film also stars Parvathy Thiruvottu, Malavika Mohanan, and Pasupathy, among others. The film, which was initially set to release in January, got pushed. A release date for the film is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Ranjith who is also producing films under Neelam Productions, has managed to bring out some unique and successful stories to the forefront. The recent release was Ashok Selvan and Shanthanu Bhagyaraj-starrer Blue Star, which opened to a positive reception. The banner is also expecting the release of J Baby, starring Urvashi in the lead role, on March 8.
