Now that the biggie, Salaar, has been released, the concentration of Telugu cinema is now on the Sankranthi 2024 releases. As many as five films are all set to release this January and one of them is Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram, which has been directed by Trivikram Srinivas.
The mass drama is all set to release on January 12, 2024, but the shooting is yet to be wrapped up and the makers are racing against time to wrap up the shoot. On the other hand, we have come to know that the makers are not keen to promote the film aggressively.
On the other hand, we have come to know that Mahesh Babu is all set to leave for the US to ring in the new year. He will leave on December 27 and be back on January 5, 2024. On January 6, he will start promotions for the film. This means that Mahesh has given only six days for the film's promotions and the makers need to plan accordingly.
The gossip is that they are all set to follow the Salaar style of promotions. There will be a trailer launch and just a video interview with the lead cast. Discussions are on as of now and things can change at any time depending on the buzz of the film. Mahesh Babu is happy with the way the film has shaped up.
Guntur Kaaram has Sreeleela playing the female lead. Pooja Hegde was the main lead but as she walked out of the film, Sreeleela got the big offer. Young heroine Meenakshi Chaudhary is also playing a key role in this film. The pre-release business has been done for Rs 120 crore and Amazon is likely to grab the OTT rights to the film.
Thaman's music for Guntur Kaaram has come under a lot of scrutiny and he is under massive pressure to deliver hit songs. Fans of Mahesh are demanding more updates from the makers and now that Mahesh is heading for the US, the promotional spree will be quite short. Haarika and Haasine Creations bankroll the film on a massive note.
