The group debated whether there was a more effective approach to evoking the decade of the 1990s. Gulshan proposed the concept, and he was eager to adopt the style himself. Raj and DK wrote and directed the comic crime thriller Guns and Gulaabs. The setting is the violent and criminal 1990s. Leading actors in the series include Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, and TJ Bhanu.
