Previously seen in Ashutosh Gowariker’s epic war drama film Panipat, actor Mohit Anand plays a brat (Prithvi) in Vardhan Ketkar’s Aditya Roy Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur-starrer crime thriller film Gumraah, which released today (April 7). Recalling his fond memories from the set, Mohit said that Aditya has been a great support for me throughout the making of the film.
He said, “For me, among the toughest moments was doing the film’s opening scene, which was a lot about imagination. Despite several retakes, we were not able to get it right. But Aditya was quite supportive throughout the entire filming process, and that helped me a lot. Aditya is a man any actor can learn from. I like the way he doesn’t shy away from retakes. I also got to understand how disciplined an actor needs to be to look the way Aditya is.”
The actor also praised the director’s vision, adding that Vardhan had made the environment very calm and congenial for the team. He is hoping that people would love to see the lead actors in never-before-seen avatars - Aditya (in a double role) and Mrunal (as a badass cop). “People who liked Ajay Devgn and Tabu-starrer Drishyam or those who enjoy mystery thrillers like Shutter Island would Gumraah too. The screenplay of the film is adapted for a quick-paced story, and the songs are fantastic. I feel it’s a film best enjoyed in theatres.”
Next, Mohit will be seen in a Marathi movie, called T.S.I.L.Y, directed by Satish Rajwade.
