Gudi Padwa 2023: I will be celebrating Gudi Padwa at my new home for the very first time, Raqesh Bapat

Actor and now-turned-producer Raqesh Bapat holds his Marathi traditions close to his heart and takes pride in his heritage. This festive season of the Marathi New year is very special for Raqesh. Speaking exclusively to OTTplay, Raqesh said, "I will be celebrating Gudi Padwa at my new home for the very first time by raising the gudi as this is a traditional festival that marks the beginning of the New Year in the Marathi calendar. As I embark on this journey of branching out as a producer with Tathasthu Productions I consider this as a very auspicious beginning of celebrating Gudi Padwa at my new h ome”.

He further added, "I will be away from family this year although, I wanna keep the age old tradition going on by raising the Gudi early in the morning and offering my prayers. I am also looking forward to relish some traditional home made food and enjoy the scrumptious meal”.

Recently, Raqesh Bapat made headlines with the launch of his production house ‘Tathasthu’ in collaboration with his childhood friend Sanket Bakshi. Speaking about which, the actor had said in a media statement, "My childhood friend Sanket Bakshi and I had recently been discussing a lot of potential scripts and wanted to work on something creative together. He lives in the US and works at Microsoft but does a lot of other things. When we finally thought of this script, we put the whole plan in action by hiring a great team and even setting up a production house there."

He added, "So we have a full-fledged one stop full facility to produce films in the US. His production Saad films, my production Tathastu productions and Fragic films, another partner we collaborated with, conceptualized the whole project, hired a great crew and made this 20 minute short film called Ransom Handsome. The purpose was just seeing how we can push the boundaries for short film making. Most short films shy away from action due to budget concerns. We wanted to make a short film with some action and amazing visuals. In general, we had a lot of fun with our creativity and making a good product. Thankfully, the film came out really well. We sent it out to various film festivals. By god's grace, whichever festival we sent the film to, it has won awards".
